How did Debbie and Oussama, the stars of ’90 Day Fiancé,’ meet?
The Georgia native met her fiancé on social media after he praised her artwork.
“We had a lot in common. And he would send me pictures of his paintings and poetry,” Debbie explained during her debut on the February 19, 2023 episode. “And every once in a while, I’d get another message, and then all of a sudden he’s like a tree throwing roots in your heart.
After speaking online for six months, Debbie traveled to Morocco to visit Oussama for the first time in person. Even though the couple share an age difference of more than 40 years, it wasn’t until their first in-person meeting that she realized how much younger he really was.
“At first I said: ‘Look, Oussama, I can’t do this, you’re too young,’” he continued in a solo interview. “But he made me see that it wasn’t about age and circumstance. It’s about a deeper level and connectivity and us being a team.”
After two trips to Morocco and three years of communication, Oussama asked Debbie to move abroad and be his wife.
Why doesn’t ’90 Day Fiance’ star Oussama move to the US?
While Debbie said it would be “wonderful” to be able to bring Oussama to the United States, she didn’t think it was a realistic option.
“But you know, they will see my date of birth and his date of birth,” he explained in another scene. “You know, it’s going to be next to impossible for him to get a visa.”

During the spin-off, fans watched as Debbie packed up her Sugar Hill, Georgia home and moved to be with her fiancé abroad. Her son Julian, who happens to be a lieutenant in the police department, was fiercely opposed to the idea and felt that Oussama was “manipulating” her mother into moving out.
“I’m really scared that once my mom is there, she won’t hesitate to transfer all of his US money and funds into an account that he has access to,” Julian explained. “And the way she talks about supporting him in the future, she tells me that she’s already supported him and she’s keeping things from us. I trust many things. I don’t trust Oussama, not one bit.”
After her move to Morocco during the March 19, 2023 episode, Debbie learned that Oussama wanted her to return to the United States after a few months.
“I had expectations, and I took your word that you loved me, and we were getting married and now you tell me you’re not marrying me, and this is a two-month test drive? Debbie asked, adding that she “moved mountains” and hurt her children to move to Morocco.
In a private confessional, she confessed that Oussama’s request took her by surprise and she admitted that she did not know him as well as she thought.

While Debbie’s current location is unknown, she did drop a subtle hint in an Instagram post from March 2023.

In response, Debbie wrote that she has plans to help with animal rescues while detailing her efforts abroad.
“In Morocco, I buy cat food for stray cats and have paid vet bills for some,” he replied, apparently speaking in the present tense. “There is so much to do and so little time.”
