The Chicago Bulls player, who also shares son Prince with ex jordan craig as well as his daughter True and a son whose name has not yet been revealed with ex khloe kardashianhe was adjusting to a new co-parenting relationship after paternity results confirmed that he is the father of Nichols’ baby.
“There was never any question that Tristan Thompson was the father of Maralee Nichols’ baby,” Nichols’ public relations consultant Harvey Englander said. In contact on his behalf on January 4, 2022.
Nichols filed a paternity suit in early 2021, claiming that his son was conceived in March of that year, at which time the power forward was still in a romantic relationship with Kardashian. The new mom claimed that she and Thompson previously met in 2020 at a party at her house in Encino, California, and later reunited.
When test results confirmed the fitness model’s allegations about his paternity, Thompson took to Instagram with a public statement to take responsibility and apologize for his past actions.
“Today the paternity test results revealed that I had a child with Maralee Nichols. I take full responsibility for my actions. Now that paternity has been established, I look forward to amicably raising our son,” he wrote on Jan. 3, before expressing his remorse for causing Kardashian harm. “My actions certainly haven’t aligned with how I view you,” Thompson continued. “Have [utmost] respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think. Once again, I’m so sorry.”
Nichols had previously given his own side of the story in a statement to us weeklysaying that she would never have “got involved with Tristan if she thought he was in a relationship”.
“Tristan has not helped me financially with my pregnancy or with our baby,” she insisted. “I have paid 100 percent of my son’s expenses. I did not ask Tristan for money, nor did I accept the money they offered me.”
The NBA player finally settled Maralee’s paternity lawsuit in December 2022, where he allegedly agreed to pay $9,500 per month in child support.
Theo became Tristan’s second youngest child when he and Khloé welcomed a baby boy via surrogate on July 28, 2022. The surrogate became pregnant in November 2021, shortly before the revelation that Maralee she was already expecting a child with Tristan.
