chrisley knows best star todd chrisley he spent his 54th birthday behind bars and, despite not being able to see him, his children shared moving tributes to their father.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!! I miss you more than you will ever know.” savannah chrisley shared via Instagram on Thursday, April 6. “It’s been 80 days… 80 days since I last got a ‘goodnight my angel’ text or ‘I love you more’.”
The Sassy by Savannah founder went on to say that this is the first year that her mother, julie chrisleyshe’s not spending Todd’s birthday with her.
“GEEZZZ how I miss you!! My parents have also been together for almost 30 years…and in those 30 years they have never spent a birthday apart,” she continued. “So today… I picture us all together in a bear hugging circle! #Happy Birthday”
Just one day before Todd’s birthday, Savannah opened up about the feeling of “hurt” surrounding the upcoming holiday weekend.
“In 25 years I have never spent a single party without my sweet mom and dad. Not only is it Easter this weekend…but my dad’s birthday is tomorrow,” she wrote, showing off her fridge filled with photos of his parents and Bible verses. “When you lose someone special, your world lacks its celebratory qualities. The holidays magnify that loss. The sadness deepens and the loneliness can feel isolating.”
This is the first party Savannah and her siblings will throw without their parents, as both Todd and Julie reported to prison on January 17 after being found guilty on all counts in their June 2022 fraud trial.
The Georgia native was convicted of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, bank fraud, conspiracy to defraud the United States and tax fraud. Meanwhile, Julie was convicted of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, bank fraud, conspiracy to defraud the United States, tax fraud, and wire fraud.
Todd was sentenced to 12 years in prison, while Julie received a seven-year sentence for her part in the high-profile tax evasion case. The reality TV couple, who also share children Chase and grayson – are serving their sentence in separate states with Todd serving time in Florida and Julie in Kentucky.
“What I have learned is that the need for support can be greater during the holidays. Pretending that it doesn’t hurt and/or that it’s not a more difficult time of year is simply not the truth for you. But you can, and you will, spend the holidays,” Savannah continued. “Instead of avoiding hurt feelings, lean into them. It is not the duel that you want to avoid, it is the pain. No one can take away that pain, but pain is not just pain, pain is love. I LOVE YOU MOM AND DAD!”
