Taken by surprise. 90 day fiance star Jen Boecher surprised her fiancé rishi singhwhen he revealed that he wants to abstain from sex until marriage.
In a teaser clip for the episode on Sunday, February 26, 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Side shared by PeopleJen, 46, and Rishi, 32, were seen discussing their new apartment in India.
“I’d love to have you here, but at the same time, I was actually thinking that maybe I’m not ready for you to spend the night yet,” she told him. “I want to take things a little slower.”
Jen added that taking it easy will be a good opportunity for them to “reacquaint themselves” after spending years apart.
The TLC personality further explained his decision to remain celibate despite having slept with Rishi in the past in a confessional. “Some of the questions that my friends and family have expressed have started to surface,” Jen shared. “I need some time to make sure we’re on the same page before I jump back into bed with him.”
After asking Rishi if he would be willing to wait until they were married to have sex again, the Indian native admitted he was confused. “So when we met two years earlier, we were close at the time,” he noted. “So what’s different?”
“Nothing is different,” the Oklahoma native responded. “I just don’t want to have to worry about: what if you get too comfortable spending the night here and we hook up and you’re like, ‘Well, why do we have to get married?’”
She added: “Why buy the cow if you can get the milk for free?”
While the personal trainer remained silent during his conversation with Jen, he did vent his frustrations during a confessional. “I expected her [would] they love me the same way,” he said. “But it’s okay. There’s no need to worry about that.
Jen met Rishi when she went on a solo trip to India. She initially thought the model was a “jerk”, though she eventually fell for him after hanging out a few more times.
“I really didn’t know what I wanted in a relationship until I met Rishi,” she shared in a confessional during a January 2023 episode. “His whole personality and energy is so different from anyone else I’ve ever dated.” .
After only 45 days of knowing each other, Rishi proposed “immediately out of the blue” and Jen returned home engaged. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they spent two years apart before Jen was able to move to India to live with Rishi.
