We can’t stop… looking at pictures of Miley Cyrus wearing a bikini!
The “Wrecking Ball” artist is never afraid to flaunt her gorgeous curves on social media. Whether it’s Miley sharing one of her Instagram impromptu photo shoots or wearing a bikini top on the red carpet, we can’t get enough of the former Disney Channel star’s beachy vibe.
Miley has had an incredible style evolution over the past few decades, including her time as Hannah Montana, but we think she’s looking better than ever these days. Though the Tennessee native always seemed confident in the skin she’s in, Miley has had a tough time with her self-esteem just like the rest of us.
Miley and her fellow pop star Demi lovato opened up about her struggles with body image during an Instagram Live in March 2020. The “Party in the USA” singer shared that she was particularly traumatized by the reaction to her 2013 MTV Video Music Awards appearance.
“I went through two or three years where I didn’t wear shorts or skirts on stage,” she revealed. “After the VMAs, I wore a cute jumpsuit and everyone started comparing me to this turkey… I felt so bad about myself.”
He black mirror star did the infamous performance when she was 21, “starting to understand [herself] as an independent person.” She noted that it was “very painful” to be body-shamed and that it “affected” her personal life. “Not wearing shorts to the beach… what was so hard was that my brand has always been so honest and confident,” Miley said. “I felt like having this personality was actually some kind of fraud that… I wasn’t wearing shorts and even when I was wearing overalls, I was wearing four fucking pairs of leggings underneath.”
The actress explained that the way trolling and body shaming made her feel was the catalyst for starting her foundation, Happy Hippie. The non-profit organization is dedicated to “bringing together youth to fight injustice faced by homeless youth, LGBTQ youth, and other vulnerable populations.”
