After the Met it’s the after parties, and the stars were ready to kick off their heels and dance! While Hollywood’s biggest stars rocked their best looks for the 2023 Met Gala on Monday, May 1, nothing compares to what happens in New York City after the star-studded celebration.
While some attendees choose to keep their outfits the same, most head out to the Big Apple with a whole new look before heading to one of the after parties. A few parties took over New York, including one hosted at Zero Bond, ApresMET, and the Boom Met Gala Afterparty hosted at The Standard Hotel.

This year’s Met Gala was hosted by Fashion Chief editor Anna Wintourpop star dualipascreenwriter miguel coelActress Penelope Cruz and tennis star Roger Federer. Together, the event chairs and attendees celebrated the life of the late fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld with the new exhibition, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.”
before the event andrew boltonCurator-in-charge Wendy Yu of the Costume Institute revealed that attendees of this year’s event should opt for an outfit “in honor of Karl,” noting that the museum “would not do a traditional retrospective” to honor the late designer and his legacy.
“He always said that he could draw before he could talk or walk. In many ways, it was the main form of communication for him, whether he was faxing them or iPhone,” Andrew said.
