sister wives star gwendlyn brown he reminded his family that fleeing Utah for Las Vegas was a painful and damaging part of his life.
The 21-year-old reality star shared her thoughts while rewatching episodes 1 and 2 of the first season of her family’s TLC series in a YouTube video shared on Friday, May 5. “I wonder when the episode will come out when we’ll be like out of state, I guess,” she said. “I’d like to find out more about that, because honestly it was a very traumatic part of my life and I feel like it’s important to find out the details.”
Gwen – who is the daughter of the patriarch kody brown and his ex-wife christina brown — previously opened up about the alleged reason for the family’s relocation, claiming they ran out of hive status.
“Utah seems really weird to me because I don’t know how the Dargers are still living there comfortably and they haven’t gotten rid of them yet,” she shared in an April 2023 YouTube Q&A. “Because the police were actually coming to our door when I was a kid saying, ‘You have to go. We’re going to take your father to prison. I don’t know how the Dargers are doing so well.” The Darger family is another famous polygamous family that made several TV appearances and published a memoir in 2011.
He went on to say that he didn’t understand his parents’ decision to move his family to Sin City, saying, “It’s so wild.”
“I don’t want to be mean to people, but the Mormon community in Las Vegas is evil. They are scary. And they have so much right. I felt that I was not Mormon enough for them. It was a terrible experience. Las Vegas, such a strange choice to make,” he continued. “Logistically [Montana or Wyoming] probably would have worked better. He probably would have kept us quiet too, because there was no way she would have had this vocal personality if he was living in Wyoming. It was a strange decision for me, but I’m glad.”
The extended family then moved from Las Vegas to Flagstaff, Arizona in 2018. However, following her split from Kody in November 2021, the Cook with Just Christine The star returned to his home state of Utah, while most of the Brown family remained in the Grand Canyon state.
