It used to be rare to see the Duggars wearing anything other than long skirts due to their strict dress rules. However, the former Counting on The stars have been breaking their old standards in recent years after the conclusion of their reality show in 2020. From form-fitting outfits including skinny jeans to skinny ensembles like leggings, Duggar women have rocked more modern styles, and fans they love!

“We do not dress modestly because we are ashamed of the body that God has given us; quite the opposite. We realize that our body is a special gift from God and that He intends it to be shared only with our future spouse.” Jana, Jill, Jinger and jessa duggar clarified in his published work. “We avoid low-cut, cleavage-baring, open, or off-the-shoulder tops and, when necessary, wear a T-shirt. We try to get used to always covering the top of our shirt with our hand when we bend over. We don’t want to play hide-and-seek with our cleavage.”
The eldest of the Duggar girls also explained that they would use a “safe word” when seeing an immodestly dressed woman to signal the rest of their family to look away from her. Whenever they saw someone in what they considered inappropriate attire, the ladies would say the word “Nike,” directing the boys to look at their shoes instead of straight ahead.
Ever since Jinger became known as the rebellious member of her family, fans have applauded her over the years for embracing her own style and beliefs, as she doesn’t hesitate to wear pants. “[We] I felt like there was nothing in the scriptures that was black and white in the dress,” Jinger explained. “I think biblically, we just went through the scriptures for a long time and we feel like this is okay for our family.”
However, Jinger isn’t the only one who has embraced a more laid-back fashion. Even his mother, Michelle, was seen on a rare occasion sporting a pair of black leggings in April 2023 alongside her other daughters.
