How did Carlos and VaLentine, the stars of ’90 Day Fiancé,’ meet?
Carlos and VaLentine met through social media. After developing an online relationship for more than a year and a half, VaLentine planned to travel from her Los Angeles home to Carlos’ hometown of Barranquilla, Colombia, to meet her boyfriend for the first time.
While the couple found sparks, they also found significant cultural and lifestyle differences. VaLentine was polyamorous, which means that he could have romantic relationships with multiple people at the same time. VaLentine was also more comfortable with his sexuality, since Carlos had not come out to his conservative family in Colombia.
“This is a big deal for me because I plan to tell my sister that I am gay,” he said during a July 2022 episode. “I have never discussed my sexual preference with members of my family.”
After the death of his mother and grandmother, the South American native wanted to show the last person he had left in life, his complete self.
“The main point here is 100 percent to be honest and what better way to show myself than with my boyfriend,” she continued. After Carlos’ sister showed her support for the couple, Carlos and De Juan got engaged during the season 2 finale of 90 Day Fiancé: Love in Paradise.
Are ’90 Day Fiancé’ stars Carlos and VaLentine still together?
Shortly after the Discovery+ season finale in August 2022, Carlos confirmed that the couple were still happily engaged while posting photos from the romantic night.
“And I said YES!! There are not enough words to say all these emotions. [sic]the Colombia native shared via Instagram in a since-deleted post. “Today I can proudly say that I am the happiest gay in the whole world. I am so lucky to have such a man by my side. Thank you very much VaLentine for making me the happiest GAY in the world. It feels so good to be able to be who you really are.”
While Carlos and VaLentine haven’t posted any new photos since they were on the show together, in January 2023, the California native apparently confirmed his status in response to a fan.
“I literally cried seeing your proposal,” the fan wrote in a post with Carlos and VaLentine’s promo video. “I wish you and Carlos the best. So beautiful.”
“Thank you,” VaLentine responded, adding the praying hands emoji.
Will Carlos and VaLentine return to ’90 Day Fiancé’?
Fans will be able to see VaLentine and Carlos’ journey down the aisle when they return for season 3 of 90 Day Fiancé: Love in Paradise on Monday, April 17. However, it will be a drama-filled wedding planning process for the couple. In a clip from the upcoming season, VaLentine confronts Carlos about his alleged “emotional infidelity” with another woman. “It’s okay,” replied Carlos.
