Angela Bassett Seemingly Snubs Jamie Lee Curtis’ Oscar Win

Not happy. Angela Bassett apparently snubbed Jamie Lee Curtis after she won the Best Supporting Actress honor during the Academy Awards on Sunday March 12.

As Jamie Lee, 64, the winner of the award for her role in Everything, everywhere, all at onceHer fans noticed that Angela, 64, appeared to be upset in the audience and was not clapping.

“Angela Bassett’s reaction hurts,” one fan wrote via Twitter along with a clip from the category being advertised.

Various fans on social media to voice their opinions that Angela should have taken home the Oscar for her role in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

“I respect the career of #JamieLeeCurtis but the real winner is Angela Bassett,” wrote one person. Another fan added: “Angela Bassett was absolutely stunning in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. That performance was Oscar-worthy, and incredibly worthy of being the first MCU performance to win an Oscar.”

Meanwhile, an additional social media user said they “do not blame her at all” for her reaction.

During her acceptance speech, the Halloween actress said she shared the award with several people. “To all the people who have supported the genre films I’ve made over the years, the thousands and hundreds of thousands of people, we just won an Oscar together,” exclaimed Jamie Lee.

Then she took a moment to acknowledge her late parents, Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh. “And to my mom and dad, who were nominated for Oscars in different categories, I just won an Oscar!” said the California native.

“I really want to see her honored in the way that I know she should be,” Slater told the outlet. “So this is going to mean a lot to me, and I know it’s going to mean even more to her, so I’m waiting, I’m waiting, and I’m ready for it.”
