Usman “Boy Soldier” Umar introduced her new love interest, a San Diego resident kimberley menziesin season 5 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before 90 Days. After becoming Usman’s official girlfriend, the couple continued their love story in the spin-off, 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?
“I had to go through hoops to make this man my boyfriend, but guess what…I won,” the San Diego native gushed at the season 7 premiere in August 2022.
After referring to Kim as his “potential,” the “I Love You” artist decided that he and Kim were very right for each other for a number of different reasons and decided to officially make her his girlfriend. One of the reasons Soja Boy decided to go ahead with a romantic relationship with Kim is because the mother-of-one said she was “okay” with him having multiple wives, since the rapper ultimately wants children and she biologically doesn’t. You can have more children.
While Kim initially protested the idea of Usman having more wives, it was the only way Usman’s family would allow him to marry the TLC star.
During a November 2022 episode, Kim received a legal letter from Usman’s family, stating that Soja Boy should be allowed to take a second wife and have children. The letter also explained that if the couple moves to the United States, SojaBoy must be able to visit her family on a quarterly basis.
Kim found the terms a “blessing” and signed the document with the “Zara” rapper.
She agreed and signed the document with SojaBoy. “I’ve never felt so completely in love with someone than I did right now with Usman,” Kim said. “I just want to go home, drink and sleep now, I’m so tired.”
However, her happiness was short-lived after she spoke with a lawyer to discuss her K-1 visa options. During a video call, the lawyer informed the 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90th day Students that if the government found out that Usman had another wife in another country, it would be grounds for losing his green card.
Instead of taking another wife, Usman asked Kim if she would be willing to adopt his nephew. While she was initially on board with the idea, she changed her mind when she found out that her nephew’s parents were unaware of Soja Boy’s plan.
While the couple began fighting over the adoption, Kim also expressed frustration that Usman was not spending enough time with her when he visits him in Nigeria, adding that “they don’t even have sex.”
“I’m done here,” she replied as she took off her engagement ring and left the conversation.

Kimberly isn’t the first American woman Usman has fallen in love with. The Nigerian native made his TLC debut with his ex-wife, lisa robinson (née Hamme), in season 4 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before 90 Days in February 2020.

“I love Usman, but he doesn’t know if he wants to get back into a relationship with an American woman because of his ex-wife,” Kimberly shared of her long-distance relationship with SojaBoy. “This trip is my chance to show him that I’m not like his ex-wife and then see if we can build a future together.”
Despite the 18-year age gap and cultural differences, Kim and Usman said they both had strong feelings for each other and seemed to be a romantically compatible couple and although there were rejection from Usman’s friends and manager, who suggested that he should cast a young model instead of someone older than himself.
